Is one breast bigger or droopier than the other? Is your left breast a B-cup and your right breast a D-cup? Having this difference in breast size or shape is actually an extremely common condition for many women. Medically called breast asymmetry, unbalanced breasts are non-threatening to your health but often lead to embarrassment affecting your self-esteem, confidence and ultimately, the quality of your day-to-day life. Even simple tasks, such as finding a bra that fits, can become a chore. Unfortunately, most women with significant asymmetry never discuss their situation or seek help from their doctor and continue to quietly suffer from uneven, lopsided breasts.

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and a study conducted by the Federal University of Sao Paulo, Brazil, breast surgery of disproportionate breasts can elevate a woman’s quality of life and self-esteem. Breast augmentation, breast reduction and/or a breast lift are common surgeries that can correct breast asymmetry by creating balance and evenness between mismatched breasts. In the study, 35 patients were evaluated six months after undergoing surgery to measure the breast procedure’s impact on their life. All patients were found to have “progressive improvement” in quality of life and a “statistically significant improvement in vitality, mental health and self-esteem.” These results parallel exactly the feelings expressed by Dr. Golshani’s patients who believe that breast surgery changes their lives forever helping them feel much happier and significantly more attractive.

Pregnancy, childbirth and nursing can leave many women with numerous stretch marks and sagging breasts. Some mothers may go from a full C-cup to a deflated A-Cup. Others may exercise and go on a post-pregnancy diet only to find that their once taut stomach is still sagging and the extra abdominal skin just won’t go away! Unfortunately, these changes may be permanent as genetics and age can determine how a woman’s body is affected by pregnancy and how it recovers. Some women may find it easy to get their pre-pregnancy body back while others may struggle, begin to feel undesirable and frustrated, and ultimately give-up!

If you’ve experienced this in your life and have the desire to get back your youthful figure, a Mommy Makeover may be perfect for you. This specialized surgical procedure combines several breast and body surgeries into one personalized procedure and may include a breast augmentation (mammaplasty), breast lift (mastopexy), breast reduction, tummy tuck (abdominoplasty), autologous micro-fat grafting, and liposuction. A Mommy Makeover reverses the impact of pregnancy, childbearing and age on your body by improving the size and shape of breasts. It also helps to remove fat from specific areas of the body such as the hips and thighs as well as any excessive skin on the abdomen. This special makeover is based on your unique needs and can transform your body back to the way it used to look or even better. This year, give yourself a self-esteem boost and a ton of confidence by rejuvenating your figure with fuller breasts, a flatter stomach and a transformed body. To find out more about a Mommy Makeover, schedule a consultation with Dr. Daniel Golshani at our Beverly Hills office today!

Breast augmentation has become one of the most popular plastic surgery procedures performed on patients today. However, in some cases, women who have undergone this cosmetic surgery desire a breast revision (revision mammaplasty) due to dissatisfaction with results or to correct complications from a previous breast augmentation procedure. Cosmetic reasons for this secondary breast procedure include replacing current implants because of improper size, unanticipated shape, asymmetry and/or rippling and wrinkling of the actual implant that can be felt or seen through the skin. In some cases, women may just want to exchange their present, outdated implants for cohesive silicone gel or saline ones.

There are several reasons a women may require a secondary revision. Over time, breast implants may begin to deflate, leak or rupture. They may get infected, excessively firm, shift into another position and/or become increasingly uncomfortable. Other implant complications include retracted nipples, synmastia (both implants begin to form one implant) and capsular contracture (thickening or tightening of the scar surrounding the implant resulting in an unnatural breast shape).

A breast revision surgery utilizes a variety of surgical techniques to correct unsatisfactory breast augmentation and create a more satisfying, natural breast appearance. These techniques include replacing the implant size or style, changing the position of the implant from over to under the pectoral muscle or vice versa, capsulectomy or capsulotomy (removing excess scar tissue), performing a breast lift (mastopexy) or removing the implants.

Compared to the initial breast augmentation surgery, revision mammaplasty can be far more complex and difficult. Therefore, it is especially important to choose a board-certified plastic and reconstructive surgeon with significant experience in the area of breast surgery. Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) and the American Board of Surgery (ABS), Dr. Daniel Golshani has extensive experience and specializes in breast revision.

In recent years, more and more women are expressing a desire to have a more youthful, enhanced buttock as well as a curvier body profile. Autologous fat grafting to the buttocks, also known as a Brazilian Buttock Lift, can help women alter the size of their bottom and give it an attractive lift.

At Avosant Beverly Hills, double-board certified Dr. Daniel Golshani performs a Buttock Lift by utilizing the microfat grafting technique. Unwanted, excess fat from other parts of the patient’s body including the lower back, hips, thighs, waist and abdomen is gently removed via liposuction and after being harvested and prepared, the pure fat is carefully injected into the buttocks using a special procedure called the Coleman technique. The result with the fat grafting surgical procedure is a more lifted, fuller look to the gluteal area. In addition, the shape of the body is improved as this surgical method augments a liposculpture procedure to add or enhance curves and create a more sensuous and prominent profile.

Autologous buttock augmentation to the gluteal area is a safe and effective way to enhance flat buttocks and improve the contour of the body. There are many benefits to this surgical procedure over buttock implants. Implants are considered foreign material while microfat grafting uses the patient’s own adipose fat cells as a natural filler. Therefore, there is a lower complication rate and there is no chance of an allergic reaction or body’s rejection of the fat. Implants in the gluteal area, on the other hand, have a risk of infection, may shift or easily rupture.

Recent medical study shows Breast Reduction Surgery to decrease pain and significantly improve the quality of life.

Large, heavy breasts can cause much physical and psychological pain to women of all backgrounds and ages. Excessive breast size can literally weigh a woman down and throw off her center of gravity and the alignment of her spine. The result is a large array of health problems including chronic back, neck and shoulder pain, strained and overworked muscles, headaches, skin rashes, sagging breasts and stretch marks as well as low self-esteem and dissatisfaction with overall body image. Studies have also shown that women living with this type of physical pain compare their symptoms to other medical conditions with chronic pain such as arthritis, joint pain and low back pain.

Many women who suffer from these physical and emotional problems seek a breast reduction, also known as reduction mammaplasty. This common surgical procedure can not only create a natural breast shape that is firmer and more proportionate to the body, but also improve the overall quality of a woman’s life. A recent medical study conducted by the Department of Plastic Surgery at Helsinki University Central Hospital found that reduction mammaplasty resulted “in significant improvement in the quality of life and a decrease in pain and breast-associated symptoms.”

In the study, 82 female patients suffering from symptomatic breast hypertrophy, were examined and surveyed to access the effectiveness of surgery to reduce breast size. By alleviating the physical symptoms caused by full, heavy breasts, this procedure not only provided great relief of pain but also significantly relieved or eliminated a large variety of debilitating physical symptoms such as shortness of breath, skin irritation and poor posture. The study also cites that “the effect of intervention of reduction mammaplasty was comparable to that of hip and more than knee total joint replacement.”

As evidenced by this scientific medical study as well as numerous other ones, the benefits of breast reductions are extremely positive. To better understand the benefits associated to this surgery and how it can change your life, please visit http://www.labreastreduction.com or call our Beverly Hills office to schedule a consultation with board-certified plastic surgeon Doctor Daniel Golshani.
